Storyline

Overall Story:

When we come back to Springfield it is following the character Rafe and everybody is paired off - Frank and Blake, Lillian and Buzz, Marina and Shayne, and Daisy and James. Everybody looks stable and happy but there is a STORM brewing underneath.

Blake doesn’t want Frank. Blake was a glamorous Romance Novelist and somewhere along the line she woke up and she was the girlfriend of a cop waiting tables at a diner. After the success of Jenna’s book Blake started writing again and wrote a book about a sophisticated woman who was a man eater that fell in love with a single mom that became a huge success. This book wasn’t appreciated by Frank’s baby’s Momma or Rafe.

Shayne loves his son and wants to be around Henry 24 hours a day. But, being with Henry’s mother is like nails on a chalk board. He is bored in Springfield and all he can think about doing is escaping.

Marina is chasing after Shane 24 hours a day and failing at every turn. Instead of embarrassing herself more she decides to do something with her life and rejoins the Springfield Police Department.

Rafe comes back to town a war hero. Olivia and Natalia have moved to San Francisco where they are running 5 hotels and Olivia is closer to Ava. Olivia has helped Rafe drop the felony charges and Rafe is ready to move back to Springfield and join the Police Department.

One day Blake is walking the Springfield forest feeling sorry for herself because she has had to resort to living in a world of fantasy and stumbles up on a romantic man building himself a tree house, Shayne.

Blake and Shayne get drunk and complain about life and start an affair. This affair is romantic and comical and centers around a tree house.

Rafe is going to school at the Police Academy which is on the grounds of Springfield University where Daisy and James go to school. While at Springfield U. Daisy meets Abraham and Iraqi student. Rafe doesn’t trust Abraham. But, Rafe with the help of Marina and Frank does help Abraham’s mother who has run away from her brother-in law. Abraham’s mother, Neda, was married to a good man who was also rich and died suddenly. Neda’s brother-in-law is trying to send Neda back to Iraq and steal his brother’s money.
For Frank and Neda it was magical the first time they saw each other. Neda, in traditional modern Muslim dress, the rescued Heroine, and Frank the Chief of Police, the dashing hero.

But they’re problems… Frank is with Blake and Neda is from a whole different culture and religion.

Frank with the help of Doris Wolfe the town mayor and Spauldings free Neda from her family.

Neda becomes friends with Lillian and eventually wants to buy the Beacon from Frank’s baby’s momma, Natalia, with her new found fortune.

In the meantime, Daisy doesn’t want to be with James who has a pretty good drug problem from trying to live up to the Spaulding name. Rafe with the help of Marina find James’s drug pusher and arrest him. Daisy has always loved older men , so she finds one, her college professor. Rafe nor Abraham think that this is a good idea.

Natalia comes to town to sell the Beacon to Neda on Frank’s advice. The Christian and the Muslim, the Lesbian and the Traditionalist, Natalia the woman who has her own power and Neda who is trying to find herself. Natalia agrees to sell Neda the Beacon as a franchise of the Spencer/Riviera chain and come into town every once in awhile to help Neda.

Frank visits with his baby. Natalia visits with Rafe. Natalia tells Frank she has figured out she was always a Lesbian and there was nothing that he could do. But, Natalia also told Frank he was taken advantage of because he never knew Natalia or took the time to know who she is… that is the mistake he make with all his women.

Frank is getting closer to Neda when he gets a call from Homeland Security. There is a radical Muslim terrorist threat coming from Springfield.

As Shayne goes further away from Marina… Rafe comes closer to Marina as they investigate the terrorist threat which seems to be coming from the University.

Frank begins to investigate Abraham which throws Neda into a tizzy. Neda educates Frank on the Muslim culture and Frank begins to know more about Neda than he has known about any woman.

Frank works to clear Abraham’s name. We eventually find out the terrorist was Daisy’s American Older College Professor.

Rafe is about to graduate as he and Marina are closer than ever. Rafe taught Marina to cook and Rafe is a good Dad to Henry. Rafe calls Marina his little Leprechaun as he falls in love with Marina and closer to the life he thinks his dad Gus had with Harley. Both Frank and Natalia think that Rafe and Marina is a bad idea for different reasons.

Shayne doesn’t care because he has Blake. Because Shayne and Blake are so romantically adventurous the entire town finds out about their affair in a very public way.

So Frank is free to go after Neda and go after her he does. He romances Neda like no man has romanced anyone before and Neda runs away from him. Frank is heartbroken. Frank thinks this time he has done everything right.

Natalia and Lillian both know Neda loves Frank and goes to her to see why she rejected Frank.
Neda tells them that no American man will want her because she is circumcised.

Neda & Frank

Logline: Frank falls in love with an Iraqi/Muslim woman who helps him become a better man and changes his life forever.

Story Components: Kidnapping, Terrorist Threats, Understanding his relationship with Natalia, Understanding a different culture and Female Circumcision.

Daisy is attending Springfield University. Daisy and James go to Abraham’s (bright young Iraqi man, 18) room to get help on their science project. Abraham’s mother Neda (40s, beautiful, Muslim, wearing a scarf or ḥijāb) is hiding in his room. Neda, a widow, is hiding from her brother-in-law. Her brother-in-law is trying to steal Neda’s money that her husband left her and force her to move back to Iraq.

Daisy decides to take Neda to her Uncle Frank. While leaving the campus the four of them are abducted by 2 armed men trying to kidnap Neda. Daisy dials her cell phone and Frank over hears the kidnapping, figures out where they are and saves the day.

Frank helps Neda and has her live with Lillian until she can get her money from her brother-in-law. Neda and Lillian become friends. Neda is college educated and very smart. She has enough information on her brother-in-law to put him in prison.

Frank black mails Neda’s brother-in-law with help from the Spauldings. Neda gets her husband’s fortune back and the Spauldings make money in the deal.

Neda decides to stay in Springfield. Natalia who has moved to San Francisco with Olivia comes back to sell the Beacon to Neda. Natalia agrees to come back several times to help Neda run the Beacon. Natalia and Olivia want to sell the Beacon to someone that loves the hotel instead of cooperation and that is why they choose Neda. Neda and Natalia become close friends.

While Natalia is in Springfield she brings the baby to visit Frank. Through an honest conversation Frank finally understands Natalia was never in love with him and he never really knew Natalia. Frank vows to understand the next woman he falls in love with.

Homeland Security informs Frank that Terrorist activity is in Springfield in the form of package bombs sent to place around the US from the Springfield post offices. Frank investigates, Abraham, Neda’s son.

Neda convinces Frank that he is profiling Abraham based on Bigotry. While trying to eliminate Abraham as a suspect, Neda and Frank become closer friends.

Frank eventually discovers the terrorist is an American professor that Daisy decided to date instead of James or Abraham.

Frank decides he wants to date Neda. When Frank asks Neda she says no even though she is falling in love with Frank. Frank is heartbroken so Lillian and Natalia go to discover why Neda is pushing Frank away even though they know she loves him.

Neda reveals to Natalia and Lillian that she is circumcised and no American man would want her and a marriage to her wouldn’t be fair to Frank.
